How to vote

Clear steps for eligibility verification, ballot completion, submission and receipt preservation.

How to Vote

Before voting

Confirm that you are using the official election address and that the page shows the correct association, election title and voting period. Keep your member PIN, one-time code and passkey private. Election officers should never ask how you intend to vote.

Step 1: Open the election page

Use the official link supplied by the association. The page may also show nominations, candidates, objections, privacy information and Help links depending on the election stage.

Step 2: Verify eligibility

Use one of the methods enabled for the election, such as member PIN, email code, institutional email, one-time voting code, passkey or controlled assistance. Enter only your own details. Repeated failed attempts may be rate-limited.

Successful verification creates a temporary voting session. Do not share the device or leave the ballot open unattended.

Step 3: Complete the ballot

Read every position and question. A single-seat position permits one candidate. A multiple-seat position permits no more than the stated maximum. Required questions must be answered unless an abstention option is available and selected.

Review the complete ballot before submission. The system treats submission as final and does not allow a second vote.

Step 4: Save the receipt

After successful submission, save or copy the anonymous receipt. It proves inclusion without showing your selections. Do not publish it with personal details unless you understand the privacy consequences.

Verify the receipt

Use the receipt-verification page for the same election and enter the receipt exactly. A valid response confirms that an accepted ballot with that receipt is present; it does not reveal choices or identify the voter.

Assistance

A trusted assistant or authorised officer may help you navigate or read the page where assistance is permitted. The assistant must not choose for you, observe your selections unnecessarily, keep your credentials or submit contrary to your instructions.

Problems

  • Wrong election or dates: stop and use the official link.
  • Credentials rejected: recheck staff/member number, PIN/code, eligibility and expiry.
  • Code not received: check email/phone and contact authorised support without disclosing another credential.
  • Ballot already submitted: a second ballot is intentionally blocked.
  • Suspected coercion, misconduct or process error: use the objection or officer-complaint link and save the public reference.

Election privacy

What the platform processes, why it is needed and the limits of application-level ballot separation.
